KEVIN’S BACKYARD BBQ CONTEST
2012 OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT
INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
1. HOW TO ENTER
a. Registration for “Kevin’s Backyard BBQ” will begin on Monday, May 21,
2012 and end on Friday, August 31, 2012.
b. To participate in the contest, you may enter via the following methods:
*Complete the official “Kevin’s Backyard BBQ” registration form available at The Furniture Gallery
*Enter online at wthitv.com
*You
may mail (Postmark Deadline: Friday, two weeks prior to each “Kevin’s
Backyard BBQ”, see dates below) your registration with entrant’s name,
address, date-of-birth and daytime phone number to:

For entries by mail, the Station is not responsible for lost, stolen, mangled,
misdelivered, illegible, incomplete or late entries.
All entries must be received by Noon (ET), Friday, two weeks prior to
each “Kevin’s Backyard BBQ”…The Backyard BBQs will be held on Friday,
June 22, 2012; Friday, July 20, 2012; Friday August 17, 2012; Friday,
September 14, 2012. Grill winner will be announced on August 31, 2012
2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
a. The contest is open to all WTHI-TV viewers who are 18 years of age, or older,
and who legally reside in the WTHI-TV service area. Employees of WTHI-TV
(the “Station”), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its
advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other
television stations in the WTHI-TV service area and the members of their
immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win.
Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Void where prohibited.
b. Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station contest during any
30-day period.
c. Release of Liability Form must be completed by the winner at the time the
Prize(s) is awarded, or the Prize(s) will be forfeited. Failure to comply with these
conditions will result in forfeiture of Prize(s) and an alternate Prize(s) winner
being selected from the remaining entries.
If, for any reason, the winner of the “Kevin’s Backyard BBQ” is unable to fulfill
their contest obligations, an alternate winner will be selected from the remaining
entries.
3. PRIZES
a. Grand Prize: Four “Backyard BBQ” for ten will be awarded. The Grand Prizes
will be awarded on: Friday, June 8, 2012; Friday, July 6, 2012; Friday, August
3, 2012 and Friday, August 31, 2012 (weather permitting).
b. Grill furnished by Furniture Gallery valued at $300…Winner to be announced on Friday, August 31, 2012
c. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the
Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash.
The prizes are expressly limited to the items listed above and do not include
taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.
Other restrictions may apply.
4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
a. Decisions of the Station management, with respect to the contest, are
final.
b. The odds of winning vary depending upon the number of eligible entries
received.
c. The Winner does not need to be present to win.
d. The Winner will be contacted by phone (at the daytime phone number
provided) sometime prior to “Kevin’s Backyard BBQ”. (See dates above.)
5. CONDITIONS
a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of
the winner. Winner may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to have their name, voice, or
likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest
without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a
publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station, in its sole
discretion, may require contest winners to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold
the Station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated
corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and
representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability
arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. The Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest,
including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become
effective upon announcement. If, due to circumstances beyond the control of the
Station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled,
postponed or cancelled, the Station reserves the right, but not the obligation, to
cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
e. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in an entrant’s
disqualification solely at the discretion of the Station.
f. The Station is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing,
the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a
prize.
g. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of winners (when complete) are
available during regular business hours (M-F / 8a-5p) at the main studio of:
